About Hatteras Island Pet Resort

Since 2004, Hatteras Island Pet Resort has been the premier vacation spot for pets on the southern Outer Banks of North Carolina. From a small, single person kennel, we have now grown to offer dog and cat boarding, day boarding, crate rentals, retail, and salon services.

Our staff of 5, including owner Sabrina Hatfield, is a dedicated group of animal lovers committed to going above and beyond to make you and your pets feel comfortable and welcome. We lavish each guest with individual attention according to their wants and needs. By taking the time and space to get to know your pet on a personal level, we can ensure they are safe, happy, healthy, and have everything they need for an enjoyable stay.

Our facility just north of the traffic circle in Rodanthe is set back off the highway, a short walk from the beach on a quiet gravel lane with no through traffic. We strive to maintain a good, positive relationship with our community, including local nonprofits, other businesses, and the people and animals of Hatteras Island.

Come see what keeps pets and their humans coming back again and again!

Sabrina

Owner

After retiring from the US Air Force, Sabrina relocated to Hatteras Island to begin a new chapter in her life. Her background in logistics and management and her passion for animal welfare made investment in the pet resort a natural fit.

Elaine

Manager

A lifelong native of Hatteras Island, Elaine left the world of property management for a career in pet care, and she couldn't be happier. She particularly enjoys working with dogs who are labeled as "challenging".
